If you've been wondering what the celebrities behind that horrible "Imagine" video were thinking, "Imagine" no more! Last week, Jamie Dornan opened up in a podcast interview about being asked to participate in the much-mocked celeb singalong.
Dornan claims that Kristen Wiig--who also appears in the clip and shot an upcoming movie with him--co-organized it behind the scenes with Wonder Woman: 1984 co-star Gal Gadot. "Kristen texted, ‘My friend Gal and I are trying to organize this thing to lift people’s spirits,’” says Dornan.
A few days after the video came out, Wiig texted Dornan again to say "sorry" for asking him to participate. He then explained why he thinks people hated the video. "I literally did mine in the toilet of my house…Quite clearly, some people had escaped to their second home," he said.
"There’s too much acreage in the background, too many beautiful trees swaying in the background, clearly in front of an ocean...I was quite aware of that whenever I was doing it, to make it normal.”
He also said in defense of Gadot, who he's never met, "Everyone I know says she’s lovely and she’s all about being good and kind. She was trying to do a good and kind thing and just got nailed for it. I just got dragged along with it, but listen, what are we going to do.”
