Kendall Jenner agreed to pay $90,000 for promoting the fraudulent 2017 Fyre Festival on Instagram, Page Six reports. The suit was filed against Jenner by attorney Gregory Messer, who is representing clients who were defrauded by promoter Billy McFarland.
Messer alleges that Jenner was paid $275,000 to post about the event, telling her millions of Instagram followers that it "would be filled with famous models on an exotic private island with ‘first-class culinary experiences and a luxury atmosphere.'”
Messer also says Jenner did not disclose that she was paid to promote the event, and that she also "intentionally led certain members of the public and ticket purchasers to believe" that her brother-in-law Kanye West would be playing the festival.
“In fact, Mr. West was never going to perform at the Festival. This conduct demonstrates a clear lack of good faith on Jenner’s part," Messer said.
McFarland was sentenced to six years in prison for his role in organizing the festival.
